Educational Development Program: 212-740-1929
This program was established in 1989 to directly impact the development of the Latina community. The Educational Program offers the following services:
The Ercilia Pepín: designed by and for Latina women & men to assist them in their educational development. The classes for adults offer English as a Second Language and Citizenship.
The Abigail Mejía Community Technology Center:
-Offers literacy classes , and computer classes level 1 & 2 in Spanish.
The Immigration Program: A program that promotes English-language proficiency and civics/citizenship participation, providing students with the basic educational skills needed to secure employment or pursue higher education, and introduce newly arrived immigrants to mainstream society. The classes are designed to cater to the individual’s English level.
Citizenship Preparation Program: This class teaches adults about the customs, culture, and laws of the United States through the facilitation of information. The course also instructs the students on the rights and responsibilities that come with being a United States citizen.
