Healthy Families is a nationally accredited program providing home-based services that support families prenatally, at birth, and thereafter until the child turns 5 years old. The program supports positive parent-child bonding and relationship, optimal child and family health, development and safety, and promotes family self-sufficiency. It’s mission is to help parents reduce life stressors and support their family goals. Trained Family Resources & Support Specialists utilize a family centered and strengths-based approach in offering services and connection to community resources.
Healthy Families Washington Heights welcomes all family structures and sizes. We use evidence-based data that allows us to create programming that is appropriate for the community we serve.
Pregnant individuals residing in 10032, 10033, 10034 and 10040 are eligible for services. HFWH can accept families up to 3 months. Families out of our area/age limitation may be referred to other programs in the community.
HFWH is a home based program where a trained Family Resources & Support Specialist is able to connect families with the tools necessary to reach their families goal and reduce stressor to allow a greater focus on parenting skills that promote healthy parent – child interaction.

• Yes. pregnant individuals or parents with children less than three months old residing in 10032, 10033, 10034 and 10040 are eligible for services. HFWH can accept families up to 3 months. Families out of our area/age limitation may be referred to other programs in the community.
• No, unfortunately, HFWH can only enroll families with children 3 months or less. We encourage families to enroll prenatally.
• Yes, any parent can enroll in the Healthy Families program.
• Home visits range from 45 minutes to an hour.
• Visits may vary from weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly. This is decided based on your baby’s age and the appropriate curriculum that will be used.
• Yes, as long as it is agreed by parents and home visitors.
• No, Healthy Families is free of cost.
• Babies and toddlers are provided with evidence-based activities that are used during home visits, Healthy Families events, and presentations.
• Healthy Families Washington Heights utilizes the Growing Great Kids curriculum.
