Early Childhood Family Services Coordinator

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Family Services Coordinator is responsible for: 

  • Management of family support services and activities of the program in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Assuring that Family Partnership agreements are developed and implemented to meet identified health, mental health, and social service needs of children and families
  • In conjunction with Education Coordinator, coordinating and facilitating family meetings when needed
  • Coordinating referrals to outside agencies
  • Assuring principles of case management and integration of services are applied to programs and services offered to families.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Quarterly binder reviews
  • Participates in the selection and training of staff. Supervises and evaluates Family Workers
  • Writes the Family Services and ERSEA plans for the program’s policies and procedures. Responsible for parent engagement, parent education, resource and referral.
  • Serves as a liaison for the Early Head Start programs with community programs providing services to low-income families, develops partnerships with community agencies to assure resources are available and accessible to Early Head Start families.
  • Cool Culture liaison
  • Responsible for on-going monitoring to assure each enrolled family receives the support and services required by Performance Standards; that family needs are assessed and that all identified concerns receive appropriate follow-up to resolution; and that program goals and objectives are met.
  • Plans, supports and provides opportunities for parents to become engaged in program activities; assist home visitors and staff to establish and support Parent Committees as defined in Performance Standards; monitors, evaluates and recommends improvements to parent activities; serves as the staff resource to the Policy Council.
  • Develops implements and manages enrollment, recruitment, selection and attendance processes based on assessed community need and established eligibility criteria.
  • Conducts outreach activities; creates events to promote the Program and recruit families.
  • Responsible for Program’s full enrollment, timely and accurate reports to the Program Director to report to Head Start
  • Meets regularly with the Early Head Start Director; meets with other staff as needed. Schedules and/or attend parent conferences, IEP/IFSP meetings, and other meetings.
