This is an opportunity to work at an enterprising organization dedicated to supporting an underserved community in upper Manhattan and the Bronx. Founded in 1988, Dominican Women’s Development Center’s (DWDC) mission is to empower women and communities to achieve gender equality and social justice. DWDC provides direct services and programs for all women and families that are affected by any form of oppression including racism, sexism, classism, domestic and other forms of violence (such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, incest, and human trafficking). In this regard, DWDC provides key services that include day care, healthy families, and domestic violence services. Led by an outstanding and strong Executive Director DWDC is poised for growth, having just been awarded a $ 1M federal grant to deliver STEM related services. A new Fiscal Manager is needed to help DWDC with its next phase of growth.
The Fiscal Manager will oversee a small staff and join a small team to oversee a $ 5M budget with nearly 80 staff. A key aspect of this role is to act as liaison between an outsourced accounting team and internal staff. As a direct report to the Executive Director, this individual will work diligently in ensuring that all claim reimbursements are submitted as per prescribed deadlines and generally work with the outsourced team on ensuring that all aspects of the accounting function are performed and completed.
